Why did you apply for the Osteology Research Scholarship?
Jae-Kook Cha: I have been pursuing cutting edge knowledge in both clinical and research fields while staying at the boundary between them. When I first discovered Osteology Research Scholarships, I thought it was a good opportunity to turn my ideas into reality.
Why did you apply for this particular centre (Madrid with Professor Mariano Sanz)?
Jae-Kook Cha: This centre is one of the leading groups in implant and bone regeneration, and, above all, there is a mentor whom I look up to. In addition, this centre is involved with in-vitro, in-vivo, and clinical studies, which means that I can experience a broad spectrum of research.
What did you expect to learn during this scholarship year?
Jae-Kook Cha: I have been looking forward to learning about the highest standards in clinical practice and research. I also wanted to achieve knowledge on research management in a center where a lot of research is on-going, and other various research experiences that can be a foundation for my future research career.
To which extent have your expectations been met so far?
Jae-Kook Cha: My experience so far has surpassed my initial expectations. Not only that I have been able to promote my professional career, but also experienced new culture and made wonderful friends.
